Assists physicians with interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Assist and engage with the physician in performing and/or facilitating all diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures.
Ensure high quality of all images and documents to PACS or Cardio-Merge to include image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history. Provide prompt submission of all images and documents to PACS. Respond promptly to Cardiologists and Radiologists requests for additional images and quality improvement.
Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies in lab area.
Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies, such as States, Federal and local as well as Joint Commission.
Registered Radiology Technician or Nuclear Medicine, credentialed from the Florida Department of Health, licensure or eligible.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Radiologic Technologist licensure.
One or more of the following:
Certified Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Graduate from an accredited Radiology program required; (RT/RCIS highly preferred)
- 2+ years Special Procedure/Cath Lab experience preferred.
