Job Description

Job Summary:

Coordinates the daily operations of staff to ensure operational units are running effectively and efficiently.


  • Provides oversight for multiple hospital departments in the absence of unit management. Addresses patient care, staffing, and any other issues that may arise.

  • Assumes responsibility for supervision and administrative decision making for the care and coordination of nursing and patient care services during the evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

  • Ensures that hospital policies and procedures are followed.

  • Participates in patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • SCLM - Maintains professionalism and courtesy when interacting with community groups within and also outside the facility.

  • SCLM - Participates actively in all aspects of the CMS survey process, including pre-survey preparation, actual survey, and post-survey plan of correction when requested. Promotes survey preparedness at all times.



  • Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • One or more of the following:

  • Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.


  • Diploma

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required ASN or BSN preferred

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years nursing experience required; long term care experience preferred.
